Vice Head/Programming Chair
The Vice Head/Programming Chair in MCS serves as an assistant to the Division Head, as well as oversees programming for the upcoming national conference. The Vice Head serves as the division’s program coordinator for the AEJMC annual convention. The Programming Chair works with other divisions and interest groups in planning panels to be presented at the national conference. As Programming Chair, the Vice Head also assists other chairs, most notably the PF&R, Teaching, and Research Chairs, in planning research to be presented at the national conference. Besides serving these duties, the officer also serves as a judge for awards and reviewer for paper submissions, conducts Division business and attends Executive Board meetings.
Vice Head-Elect/Membership Chair
The Vice Head-Elect/Membership Chair in MCS serves as an assistant to the head, as well as oversees Division membership. Duties include identifying new potential members, sending emails encouraging membership renewal, and developing/updating a membership guide for prospective members. The membership guide will consist of information about the Division and what being a member entails (including FAQs and benefits). The Vice Head-Elect position also helps with member networking at conferences by organizing the distribution of promotional materials and the member social, and assisting respective chairs with mid-winter programming, the annual conference awards luncheon and the off-site tour. Additional routine officer duties apply to this position including serving as a judge for awards and reviewer for paper submissions, conducting Division business and attending Executive Board meetings.
