Request for Newsletter Submissions from Members

The International Communication Division will soon be publishing a newsletter on the division’s activities. Please send us your accolades and achievements (e.g., articles and books published, new positions, other important items) so that we can let other members know about your success. You can send information no later than Feb. 1, 2014, to: celesteg@email.arizona.edu

ICD Call for Papers and Reviewers

The All Academic site is now open for conference paper submissions for the AEJMC 2014 Montreal, Canada, Conference.

Please consider submitting a paper to the AEJMC’s International Communication Division for presentation in August 2013. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) on Tuesday, April 1.

A copy of the AEJMC Uniform Paper Call may be found here, and a copy of the ICD paper competitions may be found here. All papers must be submitted through the All Academic management system.

The International Communication Division also needs reviewers. The ICD is one of AEJMC’s largest and every year we receive many papers for the annual conference. We need scholars to help us review all submissions, for both the student competition and the general competition. Please consider signing on to review at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/lmlbt5b. If you know other AEJMC members who are not members of the division yet would make good reviewers, please forward them the link and invite them to complete the form. (Please note: Though we welcome – and strongly encourage – graduate student submissions, graduate students do not participate in the review process. We encourage graduate students to participate in the division in other ways.)

We hope to be able to count on your help this year.

ICJR Editor Announcement

AEJMC’s International Communication Division is seeking applications for the position of editor of the International Communication Research Journal, the division’s bi-annual, peer-reviewed international journal.

The position is for a five-year term, which will begin August 15, 2014.

The journal’s editor is responsible for the prompt processing of all manuscripts, coordinating two issues per year, handling all correspondence and subscriptions, preparing an annual report and presenting the report at the division’s meeting at the AEJMC annual conference. The editor should be able to write and edit clearly, to communicate effectively with authors and to have an understanding of and appreciation for a broad range of research methods used in international mass communication scholarship.

It would be helpful if the new editor is able to get the support of his/her academic unit, where the journal will be housed, for help with postage, photocopying, editorial assistance and technical support.

A letter of application, a curriculum vita, a letter of support from a unit head and a list of three references with contact information should be sent, in one email, to both ICRJ Editorial Selection Committee Chair Robyn Goodman, Alfred University, and ICRJ Editor Zeny Sarabia-Panol, Middle Tennessee, at fgoodman@alfred.edu; zeny.panol@mtsu.edu.

Application materials must arrive by March 1, 2014.
